Aromatic and dry, with grapefruit, peach and spice
The aroma is intense but the wine itself is dry. Pink grapefruit, peach, ginger and cardamom rise from the glass, and the skin contact gives it a certain grip and bitterness that holds all that aroma together. This is much denser and spicier than Marguerite and shows that Muscat can be much more than a nice aromatic perfume of a wine. One of those wines where Tom lets the grape take centre stage but uses skin contact to give it structure and seriousness. A really special Matassa wine and one of the most interesting he makes from Muscat, named after Muscat d´Alexandria.
Pairs well with Asian food, curry, mild cheeses and small plates, and is good as an aperitif.
