From a single vineyard plot and a single barrel. The brilliance of this one Chardonnay plot from a great vintage shines through here. The vines grow on rare schist soil and are trained on a double-trellis system. The direct and fierce competition between the two vines growing side by side like twins forces the roots to seek nutrients and water deep in the soil, and in doing so they also take up a rich amount of minerals. The combined yield of the two plants equals the yield of a single plant in conventional farming. The smaller, looser bunches have a concentrated aroma and balanced acidity, which ensures a mineral character and freshness alongside great ripeness.
