Collection: La Guixera

La Guixera represents the winemaking adventure of Pol Andsnes, a wandering spirit of the wine world. With winemaking experience from all over the world, this project began to take shape in 2017, when he came across unique old vineyards of native Penedès grape varieties: Sumoll, Xarel-lo and Xarel-lo Vermell, planted on superb limestone soils in northern Spain.

According to Pol, his wines need considerable time to express themselves fully. He ages them for three years in barrels (made from local chestnut wood) and at least 2 years in bottle before releasing them into the cosmos. The result is simply superb: the wines are clean, stable, very complex yet drinkable and elegant. The wines show mineral expression and incredible acidity for this region, which makes it hard to guess the origin of the wine if you taste them blind.

Sacrifices often bring great quality, and the time and work that has gone into Pol's wines has certainly paid off.
