This remarkable natural winery is owned by the Paternò sisters Marilina and Federica, who took the winery over from their father, who started organic winemaking at the turn of the millennium in Noto, Sicily. The Noto valley is bathed in sunshine much of the year and is one of the sunniest places in Sicily. Winds off the sea cool it and make it an interesting place for viticulture. Despite the abundant sunshine, the valley is cooler than the surrounding countryside.
Like their father, the sisters let the vines speak. There is no interference with the vines, and wild nature is allowed to grow among them. This is done so that the grapes speak for themselves, with a strong focus on the Sicilian grapes Nero d´Avola and Grecanico.
The sisters Marilina and Federica stress that their wines are alive and a product of their environment.
